Romana Beach
Located between Punta del Carregador and Roqueta, it is a fine golden sand beach presenting a curious shell-shaping. It is sunken at two metres from the peninsular platform and separated from it by a natural embankment abundant in vegetation.

Alcossebre
In Alcossebre and Las Fuentes there are many restaurants serving a wide variety of different cuisine from the traditional foods of Spain like Paella and Zarzuela to Chinese, German, Swiss and Italian cuisine.
A very good meal with wine as a "Menu del Dia" would cost €14, or you can find a more up market Restaurant, then the price is up to you, but around €30 is a good guess.


Peniscola
The old city Peniscola stands on top of an impressive rocky crag which rises 64 metres above the blue sea. The setting in the Mediterranean makes these almost impregnable walls one of the most spectacular fortresses in Spain.

Valencia
Valencia is the third largest city in Spain, and less frequented by foreign tourists than Barcelona. There is a brand new arts and sciences centre, including the largest aquarium park in Europe. There are plenty of beautiful historical streets and buildings which are worth a visit.

Port Aventura theme park
Experience the Dragon Khan roller coaster with 8 inverted loops or try out the two track roller coaster Stampida entirely made of wood at Port Aventura theme park (Salou, 1.5 hours drive North).
The theme park also includes Costa Caribe giant waterpark, which includes an indoor area, which can be visited in the winter months.

Aquarama
Aquarama waterpark in Benicassim is a 30 minutes drive from Alcossebre.

Festivals

The vast majority of the towns and villages on the Costa del Azahar hold some kind of local festivities throughout the year, particularly in the months of July, August and September.
Some local events:
San Antonio. It is celebrated On January 17. In the eve one takes in the bonfire a doll that symbolizes the demon and on the following day the benediction of animals is realized and the procession where they take part.
Sant Pere de Verona. On April 29 there is celebrated this holiday dedicated to the bachelors of the municipality with dances and release of heifers by the streets.
Sant Benet. It is a pilgrimage that is done in June up to the hermitage.
San Juan. In the night of the longest day of the year (June 24) the bonfires are ignited in the beach where the bad auguries are burned and the traditional seaworthy procession is celebrated to honor to the Virgin of Carmen.
San Juan Bautista y Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. They are the employer holidays and are celebrated at the end of August and the beginning of September: fireworks, sports competitions, music, etc.
Moors and Christians. In the last week of September there is recalled the historical past of this locality with the traditional parades of Moors and Christians.
Santa Lucía. On December 13 with pilgrimage up to the hermitage.

Carnivals are becoming more and more popular, being particularly famous at the town of Vinaros where there are parades with people from all the neighbouring provinces.During Holy Week there are processions on the Wednesday and Good Friday at Villarreal, as well as a representation of the Passion of Christ at Borriol with the title "New Jerusalem". It takes place in different parts of the village and the surrounding area.

In the summertime the entire Costa del Azahar becomes a fiesta and it would be almost impossible to mention all the towns and villages that celebrate the popular festivities associated with their patron saints. The visitor who wishes to enjoy himself will be spoilt for choice both at inland towns as well as on the coast.
